Don't take these very seriously, I was just haplessly and mindlessly trying to doodle while trying to focus on something else at the same time so most of these are me trying to remember how to draw UY rabbits in "my style" + generally trying to actually use references too for Akemi and Space Usagi xD

Ah I'd forgotten where I'd seen it but I remember shortly before my hiatus I'd stumbled over this post about Atalum and this deleted scene in one of the movies where supposedly it shows an old man Ataru who refuses to leave Earth because his wife is buried nearby but when he was asked for her name he couldn't remember. Kinda frustrating that I can't remember where I'd seen it but anyways-

I was thinking about it during my hiatus and I just remembered what I wanted to say about this little thing. Like Ataru may not remember Lum's name but he hasn't truly forgotten her because he's willing to stay by her grave till the very end. He literally keeps his promise that he made at the very end of the series when he and Lum where playing another game for the fate of Earth and Lum frustrated yelled at him asking him if he truly hated her so much that he wanted to forget about her to which he responded with:

"Idiot! As if I would ever forget about you!"

Ataru never truly forgot Lum, because while his mind can't remember her name in the deleted scene, his heart still remembered her and he still loves her just as strongly as way back then. So much so that he's willing to stay behind a crumbling Earth just to be by her side.

Ataru's heart has never forgotten his beloved Lum. Because she's unforgettable in it.
